De-gritting and cleaning of pumping stations, grease traps, deep sumps and storage tanks.
Were it isn’t possible to install a gravity sewer the sewage is directed to the lowest point on a site and into a deep sump, where electric pumps within the deep sump pump the sewage through the pipe work to the gravity line, where it runs to the sewage works to be treated.
These deep sumps therefore are designed to gather slit, grit, grease and debris which can block the pumps, so therefore routine cleaning takes place to ensure no break downs or blockages occur.
Road Safety Contracts cleans, removes and disposes of all the accumulated grease, slit, grit and debris from the walls, floors and channels of the deep sumps. Before any work commences we conduct a risk assessment and provide a full method statement, which will detail all equipment and machinery used, it will also detail the qualifications and training, which the operatives require. If there is an requirement to enter the sump to manually degrit or loosen and remove hardened material, this shall be done in strict compliance with all appropriate Health and Safety procedures and precautions
We at Road Safety Contracts take safety very seriously and all our operatives are trained to the required standard and are equipped with all the personal protective equipment (PPE) that is needed. Health and Safety shall be in accordance with the Road Safety Contracts general policy statement, the safety in handling and disposal of sewage sludge and high pressure water jetting procedure and the Duty of Care legislation.
