Extrusion is a term used to describe the application of road markings using mechanically propelled machines.
This method has been used for over 30 years across Ireland and has become the most commonly used method in the road marking industry nationwide. Extrusion is the most effective method in the UK and Ireland for large amount of road lining with minimal disruption to traffic flow. The mechanically application of glass beads which are applied simultaneously with the thermoplastic gives instant retroreflectivity to the markings.
It is the chosen method of road marking application for large output jobs such as highways and roads and is faster than screed application. The output thickness is preselected and applied to the road through an extrusion mould.
As this method is primarily used on roads, Road Safety Contracts use traffic management to insure the safety of motorists and our employees as well as preventing traffic from driving on freshly laid markings.
Extrusion is suitable for a number of surfaces including bitumen based surfaces such as asphalt, surface dressing, tarmac. We also offer screed road marking.
